GRIFINFEST 2011 - Filmmaking 411
Hey, those crazy cats from the Great River Film Initiative's planning committee have just launched a Kickstarter.org campaign as a way to sell tickets to this year's GRIFINFEST.
This year's event looks to be pretty fantastic as they are bringing in filmmakers from Hollywood, New York City, Portland, and Chicago. Included in this event will be Josh Shelov, writer/director of THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST, Kelley Baker, The Angry Filmmaker, and RED camera consultant Andrew Benz. Not certain which of the three we are most happy to see return to the tri-states. Josh was just great when he was here with us this Easter to sneak peak his film with actress Kate Mulgrew; Kelley has been with us since the inception of the Great River Film Initiative, and Andrew was the man with all the cool toys needed for shooting EASTON'S ARTICLE, this last winter. Welcome back guys!
We are also looking forward to meeting Jeff Bowler of Arclight Films. Jeffrey Bowler is an award-winning producer/executive that stands at the helm of one of the most versatile entertainment companies in Hollywood. He will be bringing along some of his production team, including a special effects demonstration that is promised to blow us away - we hope he isn't being literal.
The committee asked if they could use a few Ghost Player clips as well as images from the upcoming feature film EASTON'S ARTICLE, in their promo video-thanks for the honor guys. You should check it out as there are bits and clips in the montage featuring the great work of each of the DreamCatcher Productions team members as well as some of our other talent filmmaking friend in the Dubuqueland area.
