Local Filmmakers to be recognized at the Iowa Motion Picture Awards, on April 23, 2011.

DreamCatcher Productions received notification that the scripts Always a Catholic by Steve Moes, and Memories of a Non-Jewish Childhood by Craig Paulsen have both been nominated for awards from the Iowa Motion Picture Association in their unproduced script category. Both scripts are adaptations of novels by Dubuque-native Robert Byrne.

DreamCatcher Productions is promoting these award-winning scripts, in the hopes of finding filmmakers and sponsors who want to help these projects get produced locally.

Creative Maxims' Charles and Mary Cunliffe will also be recognized this weekend for their entertainment short film, Special Delivery, and the original song, Maybe This Time, by Charles Cunliffe.

DreamCatcher Productions is sponsoring the upcoming sneak preview screening of THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST, which features actress, Kate Mulgrew at Mindframe Theaters, on April 22. Mulgrew and the movie's writer/director Josh Shelov will be guests of the Great River Film Initiative, Julien International Film Festival Dubuque, Mindframe Theaters and DreamCatcher Productions. There will also be a sneak preview screening on April 21 hosted by JIFFD.
