DreamCatcher Production LLC would like to invite you to a workshop on independent filmmaking being presented by Kelley Baker, also known as The Angry Filmmaker. The workshop will be free to students with valid ID and $5 for adults. The location is Mindframe Theaters, behind the Kennedy Mall, Dubuque, IA. The workshop will take place from 7–10 pm, on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Pre-registration is not required but an RSVP would be appreciated.

Mr. Baker will be discussing his experiences as an independent filmmaker as well as an industry insider.

The workshop synopsis:

Guerilla Marketing and Self Distribution of Your Film—Independent filmmaking is alive and well, it's independent distribution that is dead. At a time when independent films have to have a star and at least a couple million-dollar budgets, how do you get your films seen? Kelley Baker walks you though different ways to get an audience to turn out for your screenings. He challenges you to assess the real market for your film and provides examples of other filmmakers getting their distributed.

Baker’s Bio:

Kelley Baker was the sound designer on six of Gus Van Sant's feature films including, My Own Private Idaho, Good Will Hunting, and Finding Forrester.
